In 2010, he was part of a team of consultants from Mohammed Muigai that advised the Office of the President (Presidency and Cabinet Affairs Office) on the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on legislation and other reforms required for the implementation of devolution. Mr. Wetang’ula was also retained by Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd (KPRL) and the Ministry of Energy to review the Petroleum Sub-Sector in Kenya and led the drafting two sets of Regulations: a) The Energy Act (Petroleum Contracts) Regulations of 2008 and b) The Energy (Petroleum Disputes) Regulations, 2008.

In addition, he has   significant    expertise    in civil   and   commercial litigation    relating    to  public   procurement,   having    represented   several   government   bodies   in matters   relating   to  public   procurement   before   the  Public   Procurement   Review   Board  and   the High  Court  of Kenya.
