Pupillage Programme 2024

The firm offers 4 – 6 places each year to aspiring lawyers who wish to complete their Advocate Training Program and qualify as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya over a mandatory six-month pupillage programme.

Requirements for applicants

To be considered for our pupillage programme, you must be enrolled as a student at the Kenya School of Law (“KSL”) for the Advocates Training Program.

Pupillage applications should be addressed to the Pupillage Committee and must comprise your Curriculum Vitae and a Cover Letter.

Your CV should have a personal touch and must state your:

  • Citizenship status;
  • Educational qualifications giving grades attained (provide copies of transcripts);
  • Work experience, if any;
  • Other relevant experience (university positions, voluntary work, etc.)
  • Referees (from work or university only, must be or have been your direct supervisor)

Interviews

Following a preliminary assessment of the applicants’ cover letters and curricula vitae, the applicants who are identified to move on to the second stage of our process will be required to undertake a timed, written assessment aimed at gauging their suitability for the Pupillage programme.

Subsequently, the firm shall conduct round(s) of face-to-face interviews with short-listed applicants.

Please note that due to the volume of applications that the firm receives and considers, only short-listed applicants will be contacted as they progress through the interview process.

Enrolment of Pupils

We offer an exciting, rigorous and rewarding programme where Pupils are trained, mentored and work across all our areas of practice in order to gain an all-round, hands-on experience. We also provide our Pupils with a stipend during the pupillage period.

Senior Associate
