Carolyne Kaunda is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group with over six years’ experience. She is a Data Protection Specialist, advising public and private sector entities on data protection compliance, governance frameworks, and regulatory risk management. She is also experienced in legal audits, supporting organisations to identify compliance gaps, strengthen internal controls, and align their operations with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Her practice spans litigation, arbitration, legal advisory, and legislative drafting, with significant experience in strategic litigation, particularly in the areas of human rights, constitutional law, and environment and natural resources law. She has a strong interest in training, legal research, and policy formulation across key sectors, including data protection, banking, healthcare, employment law, ESG, and multi-jurisdictional compensation claims.

Carolyne combines strong dispute resolution expertise with a practical understanding of regulatory and governance frameworks, enabling her to provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice to clients across a broad range of contentious and advisory matters.

Carolyne was admitted to the Bar in the year 2020. She holds an undergraduate law degree from Kenyatta University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), United Kingdom and Kenyan chapters. Ms. Kaunda is also a member of the Association of Turn Around & Insolvency Kenya which is a member association of the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals.

Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Kaunda is passionate about advocacy training and mentorship. She actively coaches students in the art of mooting and has served as a judge in regional and international moot court competitions.
