Personal Profile
Nimo B. Adan is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group with over three years of post-admission experience. Since her admission to the Bar in 2022, she has advised and represented local and international clients across a broad spectrum of contentious matters before courts, arbitral tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution forums.
Her practice encompasses civil and commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration, mediation, employment law, banking and finance disputes, defamation, family law, and constitutional litigation. She regularly supports clients through complex disputes requiring strategic legal analysis, meticulous case preparation, and commercially driven solutions.
Nimo acts for a diverse range of clients, including multinational corporations, financial institutions, public sector entities, and private individuals. She is recognised for her practical and detail-oriented approach to dispute resolution, combining strong legal research and advocacy skills with an appreciation of her clients’ commercial and strategic objectives.
Among her representative engagements, Nimo was part of the legal team appointed by the Government of Kenya in the successful defence of a US$2 billion investment arbitration before the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), brought by Rift Valley Railways Investments Pty Ltd and Kenya-Uganda Railway Holdings Ltd.
Nimo holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), reflecting her commitment to the practice and development of international dispute resolution.
Outside practice, Nimo enjoys mentoring aspiring lawyers, travelling and exploring different cuisines.
