Geoffrey Imende is the Managing Partner of Mohammed Muigai LLP and one of Kenya’s leading dispute resolution practitioners. With over two decades of experience, he has built a distinguished practice advising and representing clients in complex civil and commercial disputes before courts and arbitral tribunals. His practice spans high-value commercial litigation, constitutional and public law disputes, and domestic and international arbitration, where he acts both as counsel and as an arbitrator.

Widely respected for his strategic judgement, courtroom advocacy, and measured approach to dispute resolution, Geoffrey has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions, public bodies, and private clients in some of Kenya’s most significant and commercially sensitive matters. His ability to navigate complex legal and commercial issues has earned him recognition as a trusted adviser to clients operating across diverse sectors.

Geoffrey holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Moi University, graduating summa cum laude in 2002, and a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from the University of Nairobi. He was admitted to the Bar in November 2004.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya Branch), Geoffrey is actively engaged in advancing arbitration practice in Kenya, serving both as party representative and arbitrator. He also contributes to the development of the legal profession as an examiner for the Advocates Training Programme administered by the Council of Legal Education, where he helps shape the next generation of advocates.

Beyond practice, Geoffrey is deeply committed to mentorship and professional development. He invests considerable time in guiding young lawyers, reflecting his belief that excellence in the profession is built through continuous learning, discipline, and service.

Outside the office, Geoffrey enjoys hiking, listening to rhumba, and embracing the occasional adrenaline-fuelled adventure. Having experienced the thrill of skydiving, he brings the same appetite for challenge and perspective to life as he does to the practice of law.
